Voiceless

Empty roomFinally a new song by me!

It's almost a whole year since I managed to create a new masterpiece. This is the result of one night playing with some traffic sounds where I should have been editing my Group101 film....

... incidently, I decided to use the song in my latest 101 assignment. So there's a music video in my Films section coming rrrriiiight up!

Cheasy

Me after fiddling with Soundtrack for 4 hoursI just upgraded my Final Cut Pro to version 4.5.

Not very noteworthy, except for that Apple included a program called Soundtrack. A program enabling people who don't know how to play a single instrument to create music.

To my surprise it's really fun to play with... although the results can sound a bit too cheasy... and I guess it's pretty easy to hear it's created in Soundtrack.

Face It

CrossingAnother song I made while killing time before christmas...

That Weird Feeling

Candle thingiesA song I made some time in November or October... It just took me about three months to decide if it was worth publishing.

Even though it's a bit different from my other songs, I kind of like it.... hope you do too.

Christmas on the Rocks

A dark piece written while waiting for Christmas at my parents in Iceland. It's done on my laptop without a real keyboard. (Just this nifty little program.)

No picture (yet) as I'm uploading this through a narrow dial-up connection.

Salsa Verde

Frozen SeaweedAn ideal dip for serving to craving guests. (So they'll leave as quickly as possible...)

Either I'm genius or just plain mad.... or both. This song is a psychedelic electronic salsa with some flamingo thrown in for good measure.

Enjoy!

Update July 17, 2003 I went and listened to the song again, and found a few places I could "tweak" it a bit, which resulted in a totally different (and better) sound. So if you heard the song before this evening, please try again.

The Burial of Beowulf

Melting snow on bare branchesThis is a very slow and light-flowing tune. I added some gothic feeling by adding a recital from Beowulf to the background. It has a bit of a funeral feeling to it... which is why I use segments from the burial of Beowulf from the end of the poem. If you have a hard time understanding the lyrics, then it's probably because I used the original Old English text.

Look Into The Mirror

Some flowers on the beach

OK... I'm really on a roll now.... I was just going to play around with some filters, and hey presto... I made a song! Trashy, funky and weird... wyrd, even. And it comes complete with an Andy Warhol quote.

Contains the voices of Marcus Nicolas Christensen, Martin Norén and Martin Sundstrøm.

I'm swell, gosh darn it!

A rusty fence in the middle of nowhere, Iceland

I must have been composing music in my sleep again. This song showed up on my computer when I got up this morning.

What'ya Know

A picture of an icelandic weed

My latest masterpiece. Smooth strings and groovy rhythms.

"Time Out"-like

A nice picture of somthing normally not so nice

I wanted to play around with an untraditional rhythm.. I wanted to be like Dave Brubeck an Paul Desmond... but ended up with this odd number in a 5/4 meter.

H.Y.M.N (Or Something Like That)

A still from my film, "Tomgang"

Slow 70's disco beat. Could be the soundtrack for an Eastern European erotic movie, but is actually the soundtrack for my own film, "Tomgang"

Update Well I've actually changed the soundtrack to "Tomgang" so now this is just a boring tune... :-P

Mood Piece

Sunlight reflected in water

My first try at composing music for 5-6 years... I was rather surprised by the results.

More music...
